How to login to AD domain from new server

Hi guys,

I am very new to Windows Servers and AD and am setting up a small lab for myself, so apologies for any stupid questions.

I have installed 2008R2x64, named the server LABSERVER1 and ran dcpromo to make it a domain controller. I called the domain "lab.com". I then went into "AD Users & Computers" and created a new user called "test".

I then created a new server, called LABSERVER2 also with 2008R2x64 and joined it to the domain "lab.com" using the "test" credentials to join. Upon restarting, I found I couldn't log onto the domain, but instead had to log on with LABSERVER2\administrator to log onto the machine locally. I have set up further users but can still only log on locally to LABSERVER2 (I can log onto domain on LABSERVER1).

Is there something stupid I have forgotten to do to allow domain users to log onto LABSERVER2?

Many thanks

Sean
