Objects migration from a test environment AD to a production AD

Hi all,

I'd like to know if you know a way to migrate objects from a test environment Active Directory to a production Active Directory.

Let's explain my issue :)

- I got a production domain with many servers / computers / users that is used (well, obviously) in production. All the domain controllers are VMs.

- I got a test domain with only copied VMs of two domain controllers from the production domain (the main one and another), so the domain is exactly the same as the production one. The goal of this platform is to test the integration of softwares. So, sometimes, we need to add users for services.

The problem is the following : when a machine (VM) is validated in the test environment, we'd like to be able to copy it directly to the production domain without the need to remove the machine from the test domain, copy it to the production domain, add it to the domain, and change every share / rights / whatever because the users created on the test domain are not the same that those created on the production domain.

I tried an ugly solution that seems to work, it's to backup the system state of the second domain controller of the test platform, then apply this backup to the same machine on the production domain, then make an authoritative restore of the objects needed for the migration (mainly users and computers). It works great, but we need to be carefull about the USN of the test and the production domains. If the USN of the production is lower than the one of the test Platform, then big issues are coming.

So, is there a more elegant solution to backup an object from AD then restore it, instead of restoring a complete AD then indicate what object is "authoritative" ?

I hope I'm clear enough about my problem.

Thanks in advance.
