We are conducting our first DR Test next month at on of IBMs secure facilities. Our 2 DCs here at Corporate are VMs on a VMware ESXi 4.1 host. We use BackupExec 2010 R3 to backup the DCs, the total C: long witht the System State and Service
State under Shadow Copy Components. Our AD also has, in addition to our 2 Corporate DCs, 7 Sites with a DC in each location. All DCs are running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. We want to restore 1 of the Corporate DCs for the test so we have
one to Authenticate accounts against. The concern I have is that in so doing this when this DC comes up its going to know "Hey I am up but I can't talk to my other buddies that I use to talk to." This I think will be a problem for this DC
to function properly. Would I have to delete AD entries of the other DCs in order to avoid such errors? If so, where would I carry this out? Any direction and advice would be appreciated. Thanks
