I run the IT for widgits.com. I have a domain, boston.widgits.com, on our DC. We recently acquired a company, gadgets.com, that has no server to speak of. They are connected to us via an IPSec tunnel, so they are more or less in our Ethernet network. I want to create them in our AD, as a domain of their own. I figure this is adding a new forest, so I launch dcpromo on the DC, but I only get to the option to delete the existing domain. How can I add boston.gadget.com to the domain, so that, in ADUC, I see
Active Directory Users and Computers [dcserver.boston.widgits.com]
+ Saved Queries
+ boston.widgits.com
+ boston.gadget.com
The users in one domain would have access to assets in the other and vice versa
