Homefolder Format differs from GPO or AD object

Hello all,

Today i noticed the new GPO setting on my 2012 RD Host to "Set user home folder". When i tried the setting it creates a new homefolder for my user and maps it to a driveletter. On my DFS share i see it creates the testman.CONTOSO user. But when i use the Home folder setting in my Active Directory User properties, it creates a testman folder.

Are all homefolder created in a native Server 2012 enviroment created using the username.DOMAIN format, or is it just when using the GPO setting. Now you can have a scenario where you have two homefolder. When i first used the properties option to set a Home folder on my W2k8R2 domain controller, it created the " userman" folder, then i logged on to my RD Host and it created the userman.CONTOSO folder.

Is this a mixed mode thing? or can i force the use of the folder format?

Thanks in advance ;)
